Why the name Melanopa so many people ask. Well......Alan was a keen moth collector when we met. Anarta melanopa is a small arctic noctuid moth found in Scotland. He realised that Melanopa was a perfect anagram for our two names, not only did it contain both Alan and Pamela with the letters in the correct order but it also had the initial letters of both our surnames, M for him and O for me.
